Hello Mr. West. So there's a lot of things about San Francisco clubs I don't like... hmmm, city folks you know what im talking about... They close too early (duh we live in cali), there's too many badly dressed men (b&t rep-re-sent), djs play too much top 40 (no i'm not one of those gals that request britney) and so on...

After several trips to Manor West I must say this place has done its best to dispel these stereotypes for me.

First there was actually some fine looking men in this place and some swanky lookin chicks! It was not overrun with guys that looked like they just figured out how to dress themselves and their was lots of beautiful girls galavanting around the place.

The music was straight up dope. The dj played a little bit of everything and definitely played his share of club hits and top 40 but i was super impressed hearing some new music i would never expect to hear at a trendy club in the city. By the time things really got going after midnight the dance floor was packed and everything was uptempo and hot! *love* *love* *love*

As for the bar and security and all that, I didn't really notice. There was a big presence out front on the way in but we had a secret password that a guy friend of mine gave me and they were very nice to us. The bar was packed for a little bit but it was never really a long wait and the area never got super packed. The club is actually a lot bigger than I realized but easy to move around in.

All n all I'm sure there's a few things that could be better but in comparison to 99% of the nightclubs i've been to in sf this one is closest thing to a hot spot in nyc or hollywood. If you want vegas, go to vegas i suppose. its a short flight!!! :-) but if you want an awesome night of dancing right here in your back yard, check out Manor West.

Citysearch Editorial Review. Manor West makes a predictably chic addition to San Francisco’s slick SoMa club scene. The ceilings are high, the banquettes are covered with club kids in neon and the class distinctions are in full effect, making it worth the cost of bottle service to get an enviable view of the dance floor from one of the elevated tables near the DJ booth. With two well-appointed bars, surprisingly affordable specials like $5 Kettel One and eclectic dance music spun by a rotating roster of local and nationally known DJs, this is the kind of club where people who don’t necessarily go to clubs might go. But the Manor doesn’t really get going until later, so don’t come at 10pm unless you want to look like a chaperone setting up for a school dance.
