Marlowe just hit my "go-to" list!.
This might just be my new favorite restaurant in the city! The food is amazing, the service fantastic, and the ambiance hip and intimate. And to give you an idea of places I like to frequent, think of places like Beretta and Nopa.
I was lucky enough to strike up a converstation with the hostess (who I assume might also be part of the management team) and sat at a table right next to her. Being that I am a total foodie, I asked her and my server to bring me what they thought was best on the menu and to suggest wine to go with it. So perhaps it was my willingness to try what they suggested or that I just came across a team that was passionate about their job, but the combination made for an amazing dining experience.
Many of the dishes were seasonal, so start that way. But the polenta dish (which I assume would be year round) was probably the best I had ever eaten. Go with a date or with a small group for great food and amazing ambiance and when you're done, tell 10 of your friends!

Citysearch Editorial Review.
Shellacked in the chalkboard-black legally required of all modern, meat-centric restaurants, Marlowe furthers its carnivore-cred with the day's specials scrawled on a roll of butcher paper, staff clad in butcher aprons and diagrams showing how to butcher animals. If you're picturing a slaughterhouse right now, stop--soft candles and smoked mirrors makes this place stylish, just right for a date or a foursome. Jennifer Puccio (the decorated former chef of Cortez) knows about the pleasures of the flesh--baked oysters, spicy prawns, and, especially, the Merguez lamb with butter beans and sheep’s milk ricotta gratin and the coulet vert are excellent (the latter could be a contender for best chicken in the city)--though cauliflower with béchamel, aged provolone, and smoked cheddar or the Iacoppi gratin with butter beans, chard and ricotta are also worth getting busy with.
