Dont Trust Flat Rate!!!

I will be following up on this post because I am still waiting to see how they handle my claim:

So far, my experience with FlatRate has been EXTREMELY poor.

-They changed the price last minute on my move because they said they wrote the wrong zipcode in my order and since I was moving from CA to NY, they needed to charge me 'last minute' an additional $300 for the move

-On the day of my move, the movers made me pay for their parking and bridge toll because they were driving in from NJ. The movers also said "If we get a parking ticket because of you, then YOU have to cover that cost"

-They LOST 2 boxes that had some of my designer shoes and 4 suits in them!! When I called them, they said "they would look, but chances are it was lost"

-I was moving large furniture items and they recommended that I purchase additional insurance from an affiliate company of theirs. I took their advice, thinking they were trying to be nice...When they unpacked my items, almost EVERY SINGLE item was DAMAGED beyond repair. I took photos of them right away (with the movers in the background of the photos so that the insurance company couldnt dispute them) and even made the movers write it on the receipt that they gave me. They said "dont worry flatrate will cover it" but then when I called them, they told me to use the 'additional insurance' because I couldnt make 2 claims at the same time. I just got the final verdict on the items that I was claiming and they said they arent covering ANYTHING!!!~ And now, its past the 60 day time frame from when I can make a claim with FlatRate!!!~

I am SO thoroughly pissed off with Flate Rate now. I feel like they have been nothing but 100% dishonest with me and they took advantage of me.

I've called them and left a message. I will see what happens when they call me back, but I am going to leave this negative post up until they resolve my issue.

Most professional & stree free moving

I have served with the military for over 20 years -- It required me to contract with a moving company about every three years. This was by far my best experience--compared to previous moving experiences 1) When unpacking, the movers "put things away" in a nice orderly fashion. Other movers just dumped things and set them on the floor. 2) I went to organize my kitchen after the movers left just to find that the movers had already completed my kitchen and put everything away in good, logical places. The kitchen was already completed! 3) On several occasions, I had to request to move the same item more than once--from one room to another room after changing my mind. Movers I have experienced in the past would complain about this .... But the Flat Rate movers appeared happy to do the extra work without complaining. 4) I could see a lot of a vigilant care with regards to not making any marks on my walls as furniture was moved. Thanks to the moving crew (Boris, Roberto, Erick, Alfonso)

Recommendation for Flatrate moving

Just recently moved with Flat Rate & I want to recommend them because they did an awesome job. I moved 3 times in my life & out of the 3 moving companies I used this was the BEST ONE!! I used them based on some of the reviews even though I was skeptical. Anyway I went with them after I met the guy who came to give me an estimate & I felt comfortable with them. Two thumbs up for these movers. Great job!

The guys were cheerful and positive despite the obstacles they were up against; admittedly, it was a thankless job. The crew just came in and went to work! No complaints. They were great.

Gregory and his team were fantastic - they showed up on time, packaged and wrapped up my furniture and delicate items, moved everything very quickly, and were very professional and friendly. Everything arrived at its new location in perfect condition. I was hesitant to go with your company at first because the rate was higher than the quotes I received from other companies, but it was worth every penny and I knew I wouldn't have to worry about any hidden charges.
