Citysearch Editorial Review. Owner Kelly Malone is a former head stylist for Victoria's Secret and the current operator of the ever-popular hipster market Indie Mart, so it's no surprise that the Workshop looks like it fell out of a fashion spread where the theme was do-it-yourself pretty. At this airy studio near Divisadero, Kelly and an array of local creative types teach DIY classes for the masses that range from late night screen-printing to "Rock & Roll Sewing for Dudes", where students warm up their fingers by stitching a secret condom pocket into a pillowcase. With classes rarely exceeding eight students, and a staff whose skills go far beyond the ability to plug in a glue gun, even people with minimal manual dexterity can walk out with a homemade beer koozie--and don't we all need one?--and their appetites for Do-It-Yourself-ing expertly whetted.
