Woodhouse Dungeness Crab Roll. Woodhouse is a go-to neighborhood spot for all kinds of seafood. One thing they do particularly well is their Dungeness Crab Roll --packed with buttery crab, in a lobster roll, with a side of slaw and perfectly crunchy french fries. They also have lobster and bay shrimp rolls. Beware, the lines can be long, so we like to get our rolls to go and picnic at Alta Plaza park.

An East Coast -style seafood shack in Lower Pac Heights.. Anyone nostalgic for a childhood spent summering in Cape Cod--or envious of the proto-aristocrats privileged enough to "summer" at all—will appreciate the East Coast crab-shack atmosphere here. Whitewashed walls, mounted marlins, toy boats and wood-framed TVs screening serene maritime scenes for a casual crowd that's more stylish youngster than crusty seaman. The menu's made up of the greatest hits from the original Market St location--lobster rolls, cioppinos and chowders, Anchor Steam-battered fish-and-chips, Ipswich clams flown in from the East Coast and oysters plucked from our own bays—plus daily specials and a few caveats (grilled cheese, burgers) to children/landlubbers. As is apropos for anyplace this fishy, the drink list is heavy on light-ish beers and white wines, and light-ish on the wallet too, with all the brews and several wines in the $5 range.
