Churning out sweet and savory crepes for the hungry downtown masses is a two-person job at Creperie Saint Germaine--though the lunchtime lines could support a full kitchen staff. From a teensy wooden trailer next door to Temple come French-influenced crepes ranging from simple choices like plain cheese, Nutella or sugar and butter to concoctions like the Mediterranean (feta, olives, avocado, spinach and green onions) or Chicken (sautéed meat with mushrooms and béchamel). Anyone concerned about calories should note that this place uses organic buckwheat in the crepes, meaning they very nearly qualify as health food, while anyone in a rush should factor in a the possibility of a long wait--demand is high and production is slow, so be patient.
