Although they're known for their
pizzas, apps & cocktails shine at this date or group dining spot. Great outdoor patio big plus!

Citysearch Editorial Review.
The Castro, mysteriously deprived of quality restaurants for so long, has a legitimate lunch, brunch and dinner option in this California comfort-food spot from the team behind Beretta. Packed and lively, the dining room is lined with varnished wood the color of a bowling lane--the communal table, in fact, is made from one--which makes for a clean look, but all those hard, slick surfaces amplify the already noisy crowd. The menu has all the SF favorites: Scallops? Check. Artisanal pizza? Check. Housemade charcuterie? Yup. There's nothing challenging but, then again, it’s hard to order badlygo wrong. Despite not serving the hard stuff, the bar is bustling, thanks to an interesting and well-priced list of beers and wines and creative beer/wine cocktails. An instant hit, Starbelly looks to have some staying power, especially with the large patio out back open in the morning; this is a neighborhood that likes its brunch.
