One of the few places to go for jazz in San Francisco, this live music supper club is housed in the former Levende Lounge. The warehouse-like space is downtown-loft chic, juxtaposing exposed pipes with shimmering crystal chandeliers. With six live shows a week, ranging in style from flamenco to American jazz, and reasonable admission prices Coda's a solid bet whether you like jazz or just like someone who likes jazz. But don’t forget, not for nothing is Coda called a supper club, with a peculiar blend of Mediterranean/comfort food, i.e., seared cumin tuna and coffee crusted pork loin in a Jameson cream sauce, though the food definitely takes a backseat to the music. Regardless of whether you’re looking for music and a cocktail from the full bar or prefer your jazz as the conclusion to a great meal, Coda is the place you’re going to keep coming back to.
