Organic Mission ice cream shop specializes in vanilla.. Taking its name from the Mexican vanilla imported by the shop's owner, this all-organic Mission creamery churns out flavors that are anything but boring. Vanilla is showcased in a number of flavors, from Mexican vanilla bean to a Tahitian coconut blend, with such huge taste that these plain white options stand out even among the menu's other offerings: raspberry, espresso, blackberry, chocolate mint, saffron and the like. Besides the rotating flavors in the main case, look also for vanilla or chocolate fro-yo (toppings nearly count as health food: walnuts, raisins, granola, etc.) and milk shakes. You won't find the same sort of adventurous experimentation made typical by neighborhood favorites Bi-Rite and Humphry Slocombe, but you also won't find the same sort of lines, making this place a no-hassle destination for those warm Mission afternoons.
