Outdoor seating and classic American cooking in the FiDi.. As adamantly American as its Belden Lane neighbors are cheesily European, this restaurant from the chef and owners of Elite Café is well-suited to the downtown Wilkes and Bashford crowd. Inside, porthole wall lamps cast a handsome glow off of the stainless steel bar and tin ceiling and give the place an olden-day maritime feel, while leather banquettes and cork walls soak up the din. Outside, dozens of outdoor bistro tables make it a great spot for a hot day or a warm night. The Coastal-American menu of seafood (crab, tuna, mussels), soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and a few manly entrees are well suited to unfussy, FiDi-style lunches and dinner. A short but ample list of draft beers and wines complement a full bar, which should prove liveliest during TRADEMARK's "Closing Bell" happy hour (Mon-Fri 2:30pm-6pm) of $1 oysters and bar specials.
