This sleek and spacious box of an eatery may seem uncluttered and unassuming, but anyone familiar with authentic German deli nosh will go spatzle over its offerings. On Christiana Schmidt’s lunch menu: veal schnitzel sandwiches with red onion, chive sour cream, and a fried egg option; pan-fried leberkase with roasted onions and potato salad; and most famously, grilled sausages: everything from bratwurst (including smoked), duck, bockwurst, knockwurst and nurnberger minis to smoked wild boar, served with braised sauerkraut and hot and sweet mustard. Table service is swift and pleasant. Schmidt’s partner David Pierce of Ohio Design crafted the clean-lined space.
