While Fly on Sutter lacks the sultry coziness of the original location on Divisadero, it’s like a well-lit big sister: still hung with art, still purple, still offering the classic sake cocktails, but boasting a full-bar, and much more seating (plus it has two bathrooms!). This is a bar bar, not fancy, but a popular spot where it is not unheard of to see a line out the door during happy hour. The bottled beer selection is respectable and even includes 21st Amendment's popular watermelon wheat beer. For a bar, Fly can cook, and specializes in the kind of food people who eat in bars love: pizzas, generous salads, and the unique pizzetta, or pizza with a salad on top, which allows for the appearance of healthy eating without the pain of the real thing.

Best Happy Hour!. This is my favorite spot to bring friends for a fun meal before going out. The pizzas are tasty and well-priced. The appies are a perfect portion and a great compliment to the drinks.
