Real Italian Food!. I have been going to Little Joe's for many, many years and it is absolutely the BEST Italian food there is. I've tried Italian restaurants all around, and none can ever compare to this. My favorite is the meat raviolis and meatballs! This is homestyle Italian food, very authentic; unlike the pretentious and pricey so-called Italian restaurants found elsewhere. This is how Italian food started out with the immigrants and how it still is in Italy, before being Americanized and pretentious. The North Beach location did have more character, but the food is as great as ever and it is a pleasure to see the owner, Franco!

I don't understand the reviews by those who aren't impressed, maybe they're used to Spaghetti-O's or those expensive places that only give you 4 ravioli's for a hefty price...

By the way, parking is validated and there's a huge garage across the street, so that's easy.

A name long associated with tasty, local Italian-American fare takes up residence in the historic Pickwick Hotel.. In Short
Gusts of garlic-perfumed air greet the noses of those who enter the dining room, where red-and-white checked tablecloths work in concert with the casual atmosphere. Framed photographs and newspaper clippings recall the restaurant owners' enduring presence in the city. Pasta dishes and classics like veal saltimbocca accompany daily specials like Wednesday's osso buco. Patrons may notice that signature offerings like the Joe's Special (ground beef, spinach, mushrooms, onion and egg), which originated here, appear on diner menus around the city.
