Amherst Associates strive to incorporate natural/green elements in your design, they can transform your creative vision into an immaculate reality. Their unique design elements are influenced by the history of traditional Georgian and Victorian architecture and the crispness of contemporary style and even more...
From drawing up the plans, obtaining the permits, and most importantly, completing the job on time and on budget, your work was exemplary. Equally important, the job was completed from beginning to end with a minimal amount of disruption to our tenants.
Amherst Associates Construction
Management Inc. has been our General Contractor on several seismic retrofit, tenant improvements and restoration of masonry building projects, some of which are of architectural and historic value.
Amherst Associates personnel work well with architects, engineers, construction managers, city inspectors, clients and tenants of the building projects they work on. They have gone out of their way as to even working graveyard shifts to minimize disturbance to the tenants and customers when buildings are occupied.
I highly recommend Amherst Associates Construction Management Inc. as a quality firm providing cost effective and creative construction solutions especially in the field of seismic retrofits.
AACMI is one of the best contractors we
have ever worked with. They are on time, on budget, conscientious, and understand and respect the client's needs and goals.
AACMI is consistently able to be very detail oriented while never losing sight of the big picture.
AACCMI produces high quality work at a fair price, and often devise cost-saving, efficient solutions to field problems.
... I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend AACMI and Mr. Tang, for high quality, timely, cost-effective work.
Amazing experience with excellent
workermanship and work ethics. We hired this company to legalize our basement in-law unit and do a lot of painting as they had a better price compared to other contractors and had a clearer time line in the contract of how long the work would take. They were so professional and efficient, they finished everything faster and better than I expected... I recommended them to all my friends and colleagues, every single one of them had a happy ending! Use them, they are going to cost you less than any other contractors with better quality.

They also believe that you will notice the value you received in their service due to their competitive prices. They know that it is an investment in your home and in your future. They look forward to speaking with you and encourage you to give them a call and schedule an appointment.
I stronly recommend them.
Top notch builder. They really try to
do the right thing when it comes to their projects. Progressive, innovative, and forward thinking - the CEO is very in tune with the latest construction industry trends. Amherst is always looking for ways to build smarter and faster while maintaining their outstanding quality and safety record. They embrace computer technology and building information modeling (BIM) which gives them a major edge on the competing “old school” contractors.
Good work life balance (at least by construction industry standards). There are a number of employees who participate in the 12+ hours a day, 6 days a week behavior, but they are few and far between. Most employees appear to be happy, have healthy marriages, and maintain quality lives/interests outside of the company. A potential employee with a family who is looking for a challenging and meaningful career, but also interested in maintaining the quality of his life won’t find a better company.
It is the culture and the core values - Integrity, enjoyment, ever forward & uniqueness. Also, great co-workers.
Very bad work ethics.
We hired this company to do some painting and fix a staircase railing as they had a good price compared to other contractors and had a clear time line in the contract of how long the work would take.
We ended up firing them before all the work was done because of very bad work ethics and quality:
* when painting we would have to go after each layer they applied to tell them where to sand the small "piles" of paint they left on the wall. By default they wouldn't remove them and turn a flat smooth surface into sandpaper!!
* we had some unexpected damage on one wall from a previous water leak that had been barely fixed. We had them fix this for this. They ended up breaking through shear rock panels around the room to see what's behind. All of this without our consent. We had them fixed their damage for free.
* To clean their paint brushes they made a hole in our garden, nest to the water hose so the paint soaked water would collect there. Their intent was to cover the hole with dirt at the end of the cleaning. We discovered this early enough to have them clean the ground, remove dirt around that hole and replace with fresh clean dirt. Once this was done we fired them.
We later discovered that they did a poor quality job of painting the walls as paint started to bubble and would come off very easily as thick layers just a few weeks after the end of their work. This is very likely due to the lack of preparation of the wall before painting and applying too thick layers of paint at once.
Avoid them, they are going to cost you more than any other contractor at the end.
