Dear insightfulconsumer - As the manager at Blue, I would like to apologize for your experience. I appreciate your feedback and honesty as it helps us to grow as a company. I would like to address your concerns about your visit. As an added value, we always quote for services. The reason for the quote is so that the client can feel comfortable with their purchase before being surprised at the desk. We have found that clients greatly appreciated knowing the cost for their services ahead of time. When someone does have a tremendous amount of hair, we quote for extra product. If extra product is not used, we will not charge for it. Also, we have many wonderful specials that can help keep your hair beautiful and affordable. In terms of your disappointment with your haircut, I am truly sorry. Here at Blue we have advanced training and always do our best to make every cut and color special. We have many systems in place to help you chose the proper stylist for you. We work as a team so it is not unusual for clients to try other stylists. We have a range of cuts from $49 and up. It is all about you, upon your first time arrival, the artisitic director will place you with the most suitable stylist. If the stylist does not work for you in terms of price or any other reason you can feel comfortable to try another stylist. Since we all learn from each other, we consider ourselves students of hair. This is no exception for our owner, Paula. She learns from us as much as we learn from her with all of her experience as a stylist. I'm sorry you felt uncomfortable but I'm sure she was merely admiring the stylists work. We would like to extend a complimentary hair cut with either the stylist of your choice or if you prefer, the director can place you with the most suitable stylist based on your hair type and lifestyle. Yikes! I've been there three times and twice I was given quotes..was charged for 'extra product' ostensibly because I have a lot of hair. The two stylists who did my hair were nice enough although their cuts were nothing special (I expected more for more than $70 for just the cut portion) and they insisted on coloring my hair much darker than my natural color. The last time I was there the owner was also there and she made me nervous listening to her bark orders and get upset that they were out of a certain kind of tea! She also kept staring at my hair and watched my stylist very closely even though I believe she was among the most senior stylists. The whole situation was a bit unnerving and I just can't justify their prices (I'm not sure given the overall experience that Blue can justify them either!)
