SOO GREAT!! – I am actually supposed to be editing my employers citysearch account right now, but when I saw this shop on the ad today I had to write a quick shout out! I love this place, it is my guilty pleasure. Randomly found it's tiny little store front while wandering around in Hayes Valley. I am Gluten intolerant, so it's always great to find a place with treats for me!!! Staff is super great, but be careful because they are so nice you end up buying everything! I definitely suggest getting a cup of tea to go with your Macarons.....mmmm!
Rainbow-hued cookies look like jewels behind the spotless glass cases of this Hayes Valley shop dedicated to French macarons. – With a color palette featuring sterile white punctuated by vibrant chartreuse, fuscia and eggplant, this Hayes Street sweet shop looks pure Beverly Hills (where the original location is located, and where the tiny macarons are baked fresh daily before being shipped to SF) but tastes purely francais. A dozen flavors--classics like Caribbean chocolate or Madagascar vanilla and seasonal tastes like chestnut or caramel pecan--of the traditional French sandwich cookie can be chosen from and either eaten with an espresso at one of the small cafe tables or boxed to go in one of the business' signature stylized boxes. The aesthetic definitely matches the product here: subtly sweet, uber colorful and distinctly inviting. Bonus: super cute, French-speaking employees... because everyone's better looking with an accent, n'est-ce pas?
