Quoted $405 Minimum. Ended up paying $1345 plus %15 percent tip. $400 was for material ( they use plastic wrappers on my 2 mattresses and a sofa), If a guy named Omar shows up at your house, shut the door. That's all I have to say.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR A LONG DISTANCE MOVE!! I have never experienced this level of customer dis-service and incompetence with any company, let alone a company that is in business to handle very significant events in people's lives, like a move across country!

I should have known from the beginning when they rescheduled my pick-up due to 'double-booking' even though I had scheduled my move with them 2 months prior. They still showed up 90 minutes after the end of the range they promised to arrive within. Since then, they were very unresponsive and not even in touch to tell me how much this would cost me based on the truck weigh-in or provide any sort of timing on delivery of my furniture and boxes.

The contract stated that I would receive everything between 7-21 days from pick-up (when you use those particular figures, one assumes we are talking calendar days, but they claim business days, very misleading!) and was never led to believe anything different from the company, until it was obvious that it would not arrive anywhere close to the end of that range. They proceeded to blame me for the delay in a myriad of ways, rather than taking the approach of offering good customer service, as their website claims and just making it right!

A contract delivery truck finally arrived, 6 WEEKS after the initial pickup!, at 9pm on Saturday evening - they do not have their own moving services, it's all contracted - with ONE MAN to move my couch, dresser, etc up to my second floor apt.

I am very happy to finally have everything, but the last several weeks living in a new city and dealing with this company has left its toll, and I hope I can save anyone else from this pain. STAY AWAY FROM 24 MOVING!

I had the WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER with 24Moving out of San Francisco. I was lied to repeatedly by the office manager and their service reps; they missed the pickup and delivery times BADLY; they sent ONE PERSON to move my stuff half way across the country and up three flights of stairs (oh, and they tried charging me for going up stairs even though their website and service reps they wouldn't; they violated our contract. Whatever you do: NEVER, EVER use 24Moving out of San Francisco. And think long and hard about doing business with this organization at all!!!

Terrible customer service. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Where do I start? Firstly, they were late for my 8-9am time slot. How do you manage to get behind schedule with removals by 9am? Can't blame traffic, since they already had an hour of leeway.

The move itself seemed to go reasonably well. They weren't the most efficient movers I've ever dealt with, but they got the job done. It was after they had unloaded and left that the real nightmare started. First of all, I noticed that there was $80 missing from my purse, which had been on the counter in the kitchen all day. They, of course, denied any knowledge of this. I then began to unpack. I had asked them to pack the contents of my sideboard, thinking that it would be safer being handled by "professionals". Big mistake. They packed my china using plastic carrier bags to wrap it in: it's actually a miracle that no more than 3 items were broken. The insurance is a joke - 60c per lb weight is absolutely ludicrous. When I queried it, the foreman acted shocked, as if no-one had ever considered taking out higher insurance before. He told me he didn't know how to do higher insurance, that he'd have to call the office and it would probably cost me a couple of hundred dollars. He then assured me that my belongings were in safe hands and that he never had breakages. Stupidly, I signed for the basic insurance, so am likely to get about $2 for over $100 worth of broken Wedgwood china. Other damaged items included the sideboard itself, the hardwood floor and a guitar.

This company has the worst customer service of any company I have ever worked with before. I have made numerous calls regarding my complaints and each time I have been brushed aside and my complaints have been ignored. I have emailed photographs of the damage and have been ignored. They have done absolutely nothing whatsoever to investigate or escalate my concerns, other than to "speak to the crew". They have failed to return calls when they say they will. It appears that their intent is to ignore me and hope that I go away.

Absolutely horrendous company - I will certainly never have any dealings with them again and I would advise anyone else to avoid them like the plague. I'm amazed that they've received such good reviews on this site.

I'm surprised at all the good reviews. My review is for the customer service during the quote process and cancellation. I'm already tired of thinking about these guys, so I'm going to keep it short.

I called on 24 on a Tues to get a quote for moving my house the upcoming Sunday. They requested a credit card to get me a formal quote and set it up. I told them that I was not authorizing charges because I wasn't sure that I would need help.

On Wed I called them to let them know that I would not need any services yet, but they had a machine answer so I left a message.

On Friday I called them back to reschedule a time to find out that they didn't cancel my original appointment and that they were having computer issues so they would call me back to cancel and reschedule.

Then I get a ping on my phone that they've just charged my AMEX card $100. Of course I don't wait too long before I call them to ask whats going on to which they give me a shi77y attitude about how I agreed to a 72 hour cancellation (I never did) and how the $100 charge is my own fault for not calling them back on Wed to make sure they got my message.

Seriously?? Their movers might be great, their prices may be great, but their attitudes suck. I obviously won't be rescheduling with them....and to tell me that they are having comp issues and will call me back to discuss and then to immediately charge my AMEX...wow.

I'll let them duke it out with AMEX for a charge that they don't have my signature for. Morons.

AFFORDABLE and professional. Good morning, My name is Ilma Korn ,I just moved with your company for a local move in San francisco. Movers came out and provided a written estimate. On the day of the move, they were so efficient they beat the estimate by 1.5 hours, so the move ended up costing me even less money than their already reasonable estimate! The three guys who moved me were friendly and professional. I've been burned by movers before, but these guys are the best. I highly recommend them!

Cris and Carl showed up five minutes earlier than the scheduled time and went to work right away. They are very friendly and intelligent guys that definitely take care of your items.

We paid for less than 5 hours of time without any additional or hidden fees

Mom's Move. I recently used 24 moving to help me relocate my mom to an adult community closer to my home. These guys just did a terrific job and my mother could not be happier. She collects Lladros and she is super particular about how they are handled. Not a single item was broken and they also took the time to explain to her that packing/loading day is a long day and how to make it more palatable. These guys were just fantastic. Customer Service is not dead and this expierence was worth more than I paid.

Two thumbs up. I wanted to post a review on this website after my move was completed and the move that they set up and agent they referred were incredible. They had A Better Way Moving do our move and we could not have had a better experience. they were nothing short of miraculous and they met all of our time restraints to a tee. Great service!

Use these guys, seriously.. We moved into our new home the first week of July and have now got a chance to post our experience with 24 moving services. We moved and chose them for their reviews and customer service. Every time I called I got someone on the phone and not an answering service. All of my emails were answered and all questions were responded to. The move itself was great, They did the pick up and loaded everything, packing 72 boxes assorted and pad wrapped all furniture. there were no damages . Great company to deal with and always acessible.
