North Beach cuisine meets Mission cool at this eatery..
Through the front window it doesn't look like much: another industrial-chic wine bar hidden amongst the Mission's tacky thrift shops and dollar stores. But inside, the elongated bar gives way to this modern Italian restaurant's main dining space--a hodge-podge of design elements bathed in soft red light and remixed Top 40 tunes. The décor may be a little incongruous with the menu items (fairly standard contemporary dishes like pumpkin ravioli, orecchiette with pesto and speck-covered pizza), but after hours--and after a few drinks--the lines between restaurant and night club become appropriately blurry. Just the sort of place you want to keep hidden from the PBR-pickled hipsters cruising by outside.
