For a cheap Mexican meal ranging from the classics to creative vegetarian options, come to this Noe Valley favorite.. The warm, bright atmosphere invites customers into this fresh Mexican restaurant. The local hot spot is busy seven days a week--everyone from businessmen to local moms to college students wants a bite, especially during the rush for cheap lunch. The menu is lengthy and offers cuisine staples like chile rellenos, enchiladas and tacos. In addition, they also have some solid options for vegetarians (try the tofu wrap) and for very hungry patrons they have platters, like the steak served with rice and beans. But loyal customers know that this spot is best known for its long list of killer burritos, which are worth the wait in line.

Neighborhood hangout. The food here is inexpensive, you can get 2 meals, 2 beverages for under $20. The dining room is large, very casual. You order at the counter and seat yourself. The dinner plates are large servings with rice, beans, a mound of shredded lettuce that they call a "salad" and your entree. The enchilada came with 2 enchiladas. I didn't particularly like the chicken enchilada but the carne asada was pretty good. If you're hungry & want a large meal, this is the place to come, but don't expect the food to be particularly good. I saw a woman order a burrito & it was huge, enough to feed 2.
