The second installment of this Ocean Beach favorite sports fancier digs and a more extensive menu.. Consider this Sloat Boulevard café (just across the street from the SF Zoo and nearly a stone's throw from the ocean) a one-stop shop when it comes to both breakfast and lunch--hot and cold coffee drinks, huge breakfast pastries, made-to-order sandwiches, soft-serve ice cream and even wine and beer can be ordered from the large chalkboard menu up front. It's a decidedly low-pretense sort of place, perhaps a reflection of the surfers who frequent both this location and the original one on La Playa Street. Long lines plague both eateries, but it's no wonder--these cafes make up the closest thing to a beach culture we've got in this seaside part of town.
