This Outer Sunset hangout provides diners with Hong Kong-style snacks and the surrounding neighborhood with the omnipresent scent of fresh waffles.. It's nearly impossible to walk the block between 38th and 39th avenues on Noriega without wanting (needing?) massive amounts of sugar. You're heading home, thinking you've got a lovely batch of vegetables for a low-cal dinner, and suddenly you smell it: waffles. Not Eggos, or even neighboring ice cream shop Polly Ann's waffle cones--what blows gently on the constant ocean breeze is the sugary smell of Eggette's signature bite-sized snack, doughy vanilla-flavored treats handed over warm, straight from the waffle iron. Besides the addictive waffles, the small shop (a teenager's paradise with Internet access, TVs and Asian dance music blaring) has a menu of cheap snacks like tapioca milk teas, fruity ice drinks and savory choices like fish balls or shark-fin soup.
