At first I opened the yellow pages and ended up with a locksmith that wanted to charge me $350 to drill open my lock! The guy didn't even TRY to pick it first, just said "this lock is not pickable... must be drilled." I paid him $80 and told him to get lost. Didn't even get a receipt. Then I came onto Yelp, which is what I should have done right from the start. Pop-A-Lock had some great reviews, so I called them over to fix what the last locksmith had done. Cary was there in about 20 minutes and replaced the whole lock (first locksmith ruined the whole thing). He charged me $49 to come out plus about $50 for the new lock. He even made it work with my old key for free. Oh, and he said if I had called Pop-A-Lock first, 95% of the time they can pick the old lock (Cary said there was nothing special about my old lock), then it would have been $59 to pick or drill, plus 20 or 30 to replace the thingy if he DID have to drill. As I thought, he confirmed that $350 would have been a total rip-off and I did the right thing kicking that last guy's a$$ to the curb. THANK YOU!!!
