A nondescript storefront hides this local destination for a cheap, fresh dim sum meal.. Dim sum is to the Sunset what burritos are to the Mission: everybody's got an opinion. Too big, too small, too much bun, not enough pork, too greasy, not greasy enough. And while the easily forgettable outside of this tiny mostly take-out Chinese cafe leaves little impression on passersby, local dim sum devotees can appreciate that it deters others from making their hidden gem the next big thing. The menu includes selections you'd find anywhere--shu mai, har gow, egg custard tarts and the like--joined by infrequent options such as skewered fish balls, steamed buns with yellow bean paste and the popular deep fried curry puffs. The meal, almost always under $5 per person, can be eaten at one of the few cafeteria-type tables or boxed for the trip home.
