This Vietnamese restaurant in Duboce Triangle goes a step beyond the usual pho joint with white tablecloths and seafood specialities.. It's not fine-dining, but with white tablecloths, attentive service and authentic, reasonably priced Vietnamese food in a super central, convenient neighborhood without any decent Asian options, it's strange that this place doesn't get more business. The uber-hectic Market/Church/14th Street intersection has about 15 MUNI stops, non-stop honking traffic and more than a few wild-eyed transients, but that only makes the clean, quiet, flower-filled mint-green interior of Jasmine Garden feel like an oasis, even more so because so few people seem to have discovered it. Standard pho and noodles dishes are solid, but it's the seafood specialties that standout; try the house special crab or the clay pot catfish. Service is very fast--if you're waiting for a bus, you can probably get a take out order before it comes--but unlike a lot of pho spots in this price range, you won't be asking for your check at the same time as your food.
