Editorial Review for Vicoletto – by Citysearch Editors
Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in North Beach, but the authentic, high-quality variety are few and far between. Vicoletto fits in the latter category, serving modern, homemade takes on classic dishes like gnocchi, ravioli and tagliatelle, while specials include the scialatielli di mare, a handmade pasta dish with seafood and cherry tomatoes. Unlike many of the other restaurants in North Beach, the furnishings here are brand new, giving the restaurant a crisp, clean feel. The wine list, though short, is well chosen and features several Italian choices. The servers, most of whom are also Italian, are attentive, welcoming and knowledgeable.

My girlfriend lives in North Beach and we have definitely ventured out to test the waters in terms of italian restaurants, but it wasn't until we found Vicoletto where we truly experienced some of the best food in the whole area. Nestled on Green St. next to other bars and restaurants, this restaurant is a hidden gem in an area with too many mediocre "touristy" italian restaurants. The menu AND wine list is all reasonably priced and certainly affordable. We got the tortellini with prociutto, which was one of the best tasting dishes I've had. Everything was homemade and authentic. They even brought us a free appetizer of goat cheese with some sort of eggplant/pepper salsa that was very good. The service was extremely friendly and offered up great suggestions. I highly recommend Vicoletto for dates and other casual dining you might partake in. It is above and beyond better than 95% of the italian restaurants in the area.
Pros: Food, wine, everything
Cons: Service was a little slow, but the friendliness of staff made up for it

Went here with a girlfriend and wasn't sure what to expect because it's new. The food was outstanding and the pasta was out of this world fresh. Everything tastes as you hope it would coming from an Italian restaurant-the wine, the gnocchi, the artichoke pasta and the tirimisu were all delicious. The service was great-very warm, friendly people! I would definitley go again.
Pros: Great Food & Valet Parking!
