Lovely Shop/Extremely Expensive. This is a lovely shop that is just out of place. They have beautiful taste but the prices are out of the this world, especially for the location. The theme is sort of neo-Victorian and quite feminine. They have pretty dresses, lady-like bath items, and many lovely candles. You can imagine my shock in picking up a candle in a shop in the Mission and seeing the price tag $80. This shop would be more at home in the Marina where the prices would be in line with the prices of the other shops around. The staff was friendly; the shop is cozy; the selection is lovely. However, the prices are not at all appropriate for the location.

Step into BellJar and you've landed worlds away from the Mission--somewhere that feels like your crazy (but funky and very, very stylish) aunt's house. It's no wonder that this boutique of lovely treasures, handmade frills, and obscure knick-knacks is the work of longtime art director Sasha Wingate. Her impeccable taste is apparent in every corner of the hop, from the vintage wallpaper to the selection of designer apparel, jewelry and home decor.
