In Short – For wine collectors who choose to stash their bottles in one of the secure, climate-controlled lockers in this refurbished 1920s-era warehouse, the San Francisco Wine Center is more than a storage facility; it's a wine community. Membership runs between $75 and $450 per month and includes access to gorgeous lounge areas and highly rated wines, plus discounts on space rental and exclusive tasting events, not to mention opportunities to socialize with fellow wine geeks.

Editor's Tips

Save Money:
An affordable option for rookie collectors is to sign up for a storage space with friends and share the cost.
The Extras:
Members and non-members alike should ask about upcoming events and classes with top chefs, winemakers, distributors and Master Sommeliers.

Summer School; The Good Kind

by SerenaGordon at Citysearch

Starting next week the San Francisco Wine Center will be starting it's summer session of Wine School. This is the kind of wine school that is just the right level, whether you are a beginner or collector these classes have something to offer at every level. The classes are taught in 90 minute presentations by some of the industry's best, not to mention some of the best wines out there are also in the line up.

Classes are taught at a large dinning table so the format is more of a social gathering versus a cold classroom. Also the San Francisco Wine Center is in the city and has easy access from 280/101 and 80 whether you are coming from the city or outside.

The spring session was a lot of fun, and many learned a lot. From looking at the website calendar classes include, Spain, Champagne, Italy, Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Napa... can't wait!

  • Pros: Best Pros in the Business + Best Wine Out There = FUN!!!!

Amazing wine storage center & BEAUTIFUL SPACE. (can you tell im excited about this find!!!)

by 5thgenerationSF at Citysearch

This place is amazing, you have to check it out to know what i'm talking about. The staff and owners (Brian and Paolo) super friendly and very knowledgeable about all wines!! The wine center offers memberships that are really reasonable. I am super excited to have some of my wine stored here and to be part of this community. They offer wine pick-up & delivery services. I have to share with all of you how much this place offers. There are private winemaker events, release parties, blend sessions, and food & wine pairings in the SFWC wine lounge or reserve room. Thats how i discovered San Francisco Wine Center. I am definitely having my next party there. Seriously wine lovers- check this new home away from home out!

I love this place so much i should see if they want me to work there :-)

  • Pros: Space, easy pick up or drop off, event space, wine selections, Storage
  • Cons: Not a thing
