There's a demographic in the changing face of the Fillmore that's been yearning for a wine bar---they got it.. Moody, candle-lit and accented by stark black-and-white landscape photos, the Wine Jar is a great spot to add to a date itinerary. And the range of quantities available on the menu makes it easy to stop by for a half glass of Chateauneuf du Pape or linger over the whole bottle. While food is limited to cheese and snacks, the wine is selected with a fruit-forward, new-world slant that makes for easy, undemanding quaffing.

loved it!!. My sister and i went to wine jar last night and we loved it. Great service (Jeff) and had a bunch of great wine. I'll go back for sure. Its super cute and comfortable too.

Wine jar...not up to par!. My husband and I went to check out this new wine bar a few weeks ago. It caught our attention because of the great decor...and that's the best thing this place had going for it. The prices were outrageous, the wine list was not impressive (no flights), and you can find better customer service at a dive bar in the Tenderloin. On multiple occassions the bartender said he was too busy to take our order and answer our questions about out the wine. Funny thing is there were only 13 other people there besides us. Amelie or The Hidden Vine would have been a much better use of our time and money. Now we know!

Classy addition to the Fillmore. Thank you!. I recently discovered this new wine bar, while waiting for my table at SPQR, and almost got stuck there :)Wine Jar offers had some pleasant surprises: People still care about details when it comes to decorating a venue......from top to bottom. Furniture, they are all comfortable no doubt! I happened to test all of them;0) Great art work on the walls. Their unique menu setting is definitely ouside the box. Not to mention that a wine bar (jar)such as this, is expected to offer quality wines which are certainly in order. Pleasent experience, will certainly be back!
