Editorial Review for De Afghanan Kabob House – by Joanna Currier
In Short
For $10 or less, diners at this no-frills, sit-down hole in the wall with counter service can enjoy richly seasoned, charbroiled beef, ground sirloin, chicken or lamb hunks served with basmati rice, various side salads (usually including garbanzo beans) and Afghan flatbread. Vegetarian options include the bolani kadoo--a pumpkin turnover--and sabsi, a flavorful spinach dish. Meat is halal; there is no alcohol served, but BYOB is welcome.

I recently heard about the grand opening of the DE AFGHANAN KABOB HOUSE in SF and was extremely pleased considering the fact that I visit the FREMONT location about twice a week. Everything on the menu is delicious including the: Chalpli Kabob- which is the famous item looks like a beef patti with sprinkled green onioins. Chicken, beef and lamb kabobs- all come with a great portion that will fill you up Bolani- flat bread almost looksl like a middle eastern pizza ...Everyhting is warm and textured and cooked perfectly. The guys who own the place are really friendly and chatty which only adds to the great taste. I recommend this place to all my friends and all have become consistent customers. If every in the SF area make sure you visit.
