BEST PLACE TO HANGOUT IN THE CASTRO. This bar has a wonderful view of the crowd on Market Street. The pizza was as good as any pizza joint in the city. The wings and calamari are the best bar food in the Castro.

The drinks are strong and the beer selection was enough to make you thirsty. Bartenders were very attentive. I think this bar rocks.

Great Bar, Great Food, Great Music, Great Deck. The Lookout has a one of a kind balcony overlooking Market Street. Every night there are fun nights, from drag queen trivia to DJ parties. The crowd is mixed and always welcoming. Drink specials cannot be beat. Oh yeah, and they have fab food they serve into the bar or in a separate restaurant space.

A city view, better-than-average bar food and friendly bartenders make for a winning combination in the Castro.. In Short
This local watering hole appears to be spiritless when viewed from street level. The upstairs, where there are decent drinks, large food portions and gay- and straight-friendly service, is much more alluring. Singles can grab a stool around the large oval bar, while groups may want to make a beeline for the lounge seating at the top of the stairs.

Hits: Twelve-inch pizzas, including a veggie option, are available in thin-crust and deep-dish versions to ensure you won't drink on an empty stomach.

Misses: Formica tables, parquet floors and barstools that prominently display the letter M (the location used to be The Metro) could use some updating.
