Go for the unlimited!.
Really, it's $39 all you can eat, and drink in beer and house sake.
Now for my husband, that is quite a deal. For me, they make money on it. I guess between the two of us they break even.
But if you consider it a night out with friends, then it's just a good time.
The menu says it's a two hour max, but we were there for a while and they didn't throw us out. Just be nice and don't be mean to the girls.
Some things to know:
Basic premise is that its Asian hot pot. I guess by now you should know what that is by reading the other reviews. Things I want to point out:
Everyone at your table has to get the special.
You get lamb and beef.
And veggies, rice and noodles.
Pick a broth and you are set.
You need to ask for the wire net thingies.
The upstairs back room is not as hot as the downstairs room.
And you can be noisier there.
The girls sometimes get busy so make their lives easier and ask for everything you think you need at once. And yes they can take a shot with you.
Be nice to them.
It's a fun place and though the menu says it's Kobe beef and I don't know if it really is, it still tastes good with all the sauces you mix yourself and since the whole experience is fun, for $39, who cares!?
Editorial Review. Shabu lovers flock to this Japanese Shabu house in the Richmond district for generous portions of kobe beef, fresh vegetables, and udon noodles with a contemporary twist.
BEST SHABU SHABU ON THIS SIDE OF TOWN!!.
Shabu house is exactly the new restaurant Geary needed! The food is soo good there! The meat is so fresh - probably the best quality meat I've ever had at a Shabu Shabu place! The service was particularly good and I would definitely recommend this and am excited to go back! It's cold out so I may go tonight!! :)
Also the decor is fabulous and it is a great place for a date or a fun night out with friends! :)
Yummy Shabu!. My boyfriend really likes Shabu Shabu so while driving I passed by this Grand Opening sign, SHABU HOUSE! Ok, I knew we had to try it. I grew up in the Richmond district so I have to support any new business that pops up in my back yard. Anyhow, Shabu House is a really cute restaurant on Geary st in the Richmond District. We ordered a large Kobe Beef w/ additional beef. We didn't realize how much food that was. Their portions were really generous and it also came with a large vegetable plate and green tea ice cream. They also had fresh green onions, minced garlic sesame oil, soy sauce, peanut sauce and spicy radish on every table so you were able to make sauce the way you like it. I was very impressed with the food and I immediately recommended this location to all my friends and family. I will definitely add that to my regular dining spots!
