- On the Menu:
- Mini-cupcakes (about one third the size of regulars) are helpful for tasting multiple flavors.
Just 'ok' cupcake but very poor customer service.

I've had cupcakes from here nearly a half dozen times, so I decided--despite recent reviews that they have become dry and flavorless--to order 24 cupcakes for a party. They totally dropped the ball--even after a couple emails and a couple phonecalls to discuss and confirm the order--they didn't have the right order--type or amount were both wrong.
AMAZINGLY, the owner, refused to give me the merchandise I had paid for, and I was left in the lurch for a party. I cannot understand how a person in the service industry could be so heartless especially when they sell something for people to enjoy.
Honestly, these cupcakes are not worth fighting traffic or going all the way to the edge of the Marina District to buy; there are many other cupcake places in the city that are comparable and better by far as far as taste and value.
For any large volume orders of any kind (or pre-order or god forbid you have a coupon) BUYER BEWARE. Other people have complained about this very big flaw.
Absolutely Deelish!

I absolutely love the cupcakes here. I stumbed upon this fabulous place during a stroll down Union. The cupcakes truly taste homemade, and the flavors are out of this world. It's a locally owned cupcake boutique, and the owners are so incredibly sweet. They even do weddings/special events. If you haven't been, you don't know what you're missing. If you have been.....just face the fact that you'll have to run a couple extra miles because they are addicting!

The Nutella cupcakes are soooo delicious, I can't get enough of them. This cupcakery is the bomb and so convienient to my house near Union St. All of the cupcakes look incredible-the mini ones are to die for. They totally cure my chocolate cravings and are so pretty to look at! HAnds down, the best cupcakes in town.
- Pros: There are so many different flavors
- Cons: I can't eat all of them
Bright, clean and cute store

I was ambling down Union Street and spotted this cute storefront and popped right in after I saw the uniformly aligned, inviting cupcakes luring at me from the display case while I stood at the doorway. It was as if they had imaginary arms waving me in. I knew exactly what to try, my favorite, a red velvet cupcake. The server was friendly and smiling the whole time even 'tho I only purchased one cupcake. My tastebuds were all in alert status hoping to replicate the same sensuous flavor as the ones I crave for at Noe Valley Bakery, but they were disappointed. The frosting didn't have as creamy nor cheesy flavor as the ones at NVB, maybe it's not cream cheese? And it reminded me of the outer shell of a meringue. The cupcake was very moist & I really liked the red color and the fact that the cake wasn't too sweet. The server told me it's a recipe passed down 3 generations. You get a larger cupcake for the same price at NVB. Ah, live and learn. The tiny store is clean, bright & well-lit and the cupcakes are attractively displayed with a large variety to chose from.
- Pros: Pretty, attractive, brightly lid storefront, friendly staff, nothing but cupcakes
- Cons: Parking, small cupcakes
highly addictive...more like crackcakes... DELISH!

So I stumbled upon this gem of shop and tried a cupcake... extremely charming cozy spot, friendly people but I've tried a couple of cupcakes at other cupcake bakeries around and wasn't that impressed - I mean if that's all you do, it better be amazing. That takes the Cake did not disappoint! AWESOME, fresh, moist cupcakes with interesting yet not overpowing flavors and not too-sweet icing. This place is on the end of Union, past Fillmore so you could miss it if you thought you might just walk by it while shopping (it's across from Novella) but it's worth the couple of extra blocks (plus you can walk off your treat too). I've been back 3x since my first visit and it's a new addiction. The banana cake and mint chocolate are so good you'll immediately want another dozen to gobble down. Seriously. Do yourself a favor and get a cupcake from this place. I want to get married again just so I can have these at my wedding instead of a boring cake. Oh well. I'll just keep treating myself to these little bundles of goodness.
- Pros: fantastic flavors, moist, fresh
- Cons: I don't live closer
