Editorial Review for Blue Barn Gourmet – by Nina Weiss
In Short
The small and rustic space is appropriately painted powder blue, built using salvaged barn wood from an actual abandoned farm in Vermont. The deli case displays the day's offerings like mac and cheese, lasagna and potpies prepared by ex-Foreign Cinema chef Daniel Burckhard. The case by the register displays the domestic and imported cheeses, salumi and cured meats. Neighborhood regulars stop by for the build-your-own salads and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. Though most get these to-go, there are two tiny tables by the window overlooking Chestnut Street for eat-in.

I love the salads here! You have your choice of so many fresh and unique ingredients. The grilled cheese selection is unbelievable, you have your choice of cheese selections to include goat, sheep and brie and many others. The staff here is wonderful and extremely knowledgeable of nutrition. I recommend this for take out at home or romantic picnic. This is truly a wonderful gourmet deli.
Pros: healthy,great service,ambience
Cons: parking

If it takes me 20+ minutes to find parking around this area, I'm not taking it to go! Just a thought when someone decided to put 2 tables in the place. Are you kidding me?
Cons: The door that automatically keeps opening; not enough tables to sit at; not a good location for a "to go" place - I want to eat at the place I buy my food.
