83 Proof is both a cocktail bar and neighborhood watering hole. There's a wide selection of beers and well balanced perfectly executed cocktails. It's packed during happy hour with lots of handsome men making it a great spot for single ladies!

Rude staff. I had a really bad experience with this place. I came in for happy hour just to hang out with some friends. It was incredibly loud, not very comfortable, and the staff was incredibly rude to us - I mean, I haven't experienced this level of rudeness before. I will NOT go back to this place, nor would I recommend it. Life's too short.

SoMa bar maintains a good vibe, a well-stocked iPod and more than one top-shelf of liquor..
In Short
The walls of this spacious neighborhood bar are covered in earth tones and outlines of feathers, and the bar is made of dark wood--lacquered for slick drink-slinging service. The owner/bartenders take mixology seriously and have each perfected the Manhattan according to personal criteria. On Wednesdays, an unnamed jazz trio works out the bar's upight piano, but during San Jose Sharks games all eyes are affixed to the TV.
