It's like a 3 hour massage without all the chit-chat!!

by sallylea at Citysearch

Not only is it less expensive than a massage, a float involves NO unwanted conversation. I mean, isn't that what a massage is all about? Relaxation, but over half the time is usually spent chit-chatting with the massage therapist, thereby eliminating the goal of relaxation. Don't get me wrong, I love a good massage and some chit-chat, but if you want TRUE relaxation, try a float at the Float Matrix. It is a quick, quiet way to get the feeling of a 3 hour massage. I'll admit it is NOT for the extreme control freak, because you have to "surrender" to the darkness and weightless and really SINK IN to yourself!! This is coming from a mid-grade control freak, and I LOVE IT! Plus, the owner and the facilities are VERY welcoming! Try it!

  • Pros: Affordable
  • Cons: I don't think they are open Monday's or is it Sunday's?

I can't describe the feeling exactly, other than the fact that I felt at ease with myself

by 2138nym at Citysearch

I first heard about Floating over an ago. I always wanted to try it, however a few fears of being in a dark tank floating on water, and no music kind of prevented me from actually going through with the process. A few weeks ago my mother came into town to visit. She has always been into alternative medicine so I got her and myself a dual package.

Both of us were a little nervous, however the owner of Float Matrix helped us out with a demonstration and overview about what to expect. They were detailed about what to do and not what to do.

The experience is like no other. The first five minutes in the tank, my mind was full of a thousand thoughts and I was a little uneasy. After that though, I just convinced myself to let go of the stress and what was going on through my head.

The next thing I know, the hour was up and I felt like everything was lifted off my plate. I felt extremely relaxed and at ease with everything.

If you are the type of person that looks for ways to relieve stress and find ways to relax. This is a great idea. I would suggest trying it out at least.

  • Pros: Relieve Stress, helps regain focus

Greatest Feeling Ever!

by kanefire at Citysearch

This is something that everyone must try!

Floatation is an incredible experience.

Simply lay back and float in medical salt (everyone floats) and leave feeling like you just got back from a tropical vacation...all in about 1 hour.

Float Matrix has a spa environment that is clean, cozy, and relaxing. They provide robes and slippers that you get to take with you. Their showering products are all natural.

I have floated there several times. The first couple of floats, is about releasing stress and tension. After that, there are numerous programs that you can listen to using the latest sound technologies. These programs are designed for personal enhancement such as personal magnetism, motivation, weightloss, quitting smoking, wealth generation, memory enhancement, and more that I forget (lol) need to do the memory one. How incredible, you get to feel like you had a massage and at the same time, change bad habits into good ones.

I (oops, my wife) recently had our first child. Very, very collicky for about 4 months. Little sleep, and a new business to sustain. I simply floated once a week during this time and was stress free for about 4 of those days. After a couple of times floating, however, I learned how to create that state anytime (almost).

What a blessing. They say that it is the first time most have experience true relaxation since leaving the womb.

This is definately on the top of my list. It is the next generation of relief/personal growth.

Their motto is "Your Center for Finding Your Center"---I love it.

Oh and you can schedule massage, sauna, and other complimentary services as well.

  • Pros: No More Stress, Clean, Affordable
  • Cons: Parking can be tricky on weekends and nights (but garages are available)
