This Russian Hill shop is not the typical "hippie store" with hemp jewelry and tie-dye skirts; anything inside Eco Citizen would seem perfectly natural on a runway. Much of the clothing and accessories come from European designers, but some new local designers committed to using organic and renewable materials in their products are also represented. Those who consider the ecological and human-rights implications of Nike sneakers will feel comforted inside the walls of Eco Citizen--and will probably walk out with a new pair of organic, Fair Trade shoes.
