In Short
Industrial decor meets neo-Asian at this modern Potrero Hill location. A glowing glass-and-stainless-steel bar, abstract tree patterns on the wall and a flat-screen TV give the venue a hip vibe. Grand Pu Bah covers Thai basics such as pad thai, panang curry and spring rolls, but also serves some less common vegetarian items like sweet and sour taro. Ornate presentation sets these dishes apart from cheaper Thai food around the city, and the bar offers an ever-expanding list of specialty drinks.

Fantastic, I love the atmosphere and the food and great service. I want to eat here every night. Steve and Sara are so nice (owners). The food is very good. The flavors are subtle and refined and the presentation is certainly fussed over. The fried spring rolls are as good as they get - crisp, light. The fresh spring rolls are good, the chicken satay is great. The full bar is AMAZING. totally great drinks... so go early, have a drink then go sit down for dinner... enjoy!

i tried since i was in the area interviewing. few people and nice ambience to allow talking, but could see they were cutting some design costs. service was very poor in getting needs filled and slow. but the food was mediocre at best and worse from the overpricing. how does a supposed to be thai restauratn do such a bad pad thai? the crab special was overcooked dry. oysters were gritty and questionable. one of our cocktails was good, but the two others were weak unbalanced. and did i mention overpriced?

Went to Grand Pu Bah Saturday night and it was great! A gem, located in the Art District section of the SOMA, you will find yourself delighted with the flavors you'll find in the dishes and drinks; and impressed with the incredibly friendly staff.
