Great nouveau Californian soul food place

I can't believe no one has reviewed this place yet. (Lots of reviews of it on Yelp.) I used to live in SF and think it's a great restaurant town! I found this place on recent visits back. Nouveau California soul food. Great fried chicken. I haven't been in six months, so I don't remember details of what we ate last time, but its' all good. I was looking up the address here b/c I'm sending a friend an email with four restaurant recommendations in SF and this is one of them, for sure. There's also an amazing ice cream place nearby for desert, Mitchell's, with exotic flavors.

• Pros: Great food. Fun atmosphere. Near outstanding ice cream parlor, Mitchell's
• Cons: So-so neighborhood, not close to downtown.
