Fun neighborhood place!. I love it when both the fiance and I agree on a place, and Danny Coyle's is one of those places. It's perfect for him because he doesn't like night clubs, scenes, dance floors or anything the he thinks is trendy. I like it because though it's casual, the people hanging out don't totally look like they just rolled out of bed, and no one is smelly. (had problems with smelly people at bars recently). Also if you wanna wear a cute shirt and jeans to go out you can do that here and not feel like you didn't go anywhere all weekend.

It's a pub, and it's clean and polished and there is even a DJ I think on weekends, where part of the back area becomes an impromptu dance floor. So though it's not a club, if I want to dance to some cheesy music I can get that urge out here and my fiance doesn't have to be miserable.

Great for hanging out with friends. They even let us bring our own jello shots in.

Parking is a challenge though and since I don't live nearby I and parking is so tough I won't be here as often as I'd like.

A standard American-style Irish sports bar in the Lower Haight.. Though it's the sort of generic Irish sports bar you'd find in an airport, Danny's is popular with actual Irishmen, which seems like the equivalent of American expats hanging out at a T.G.I.F. in Dublin. In every sightline hangs a large flatscreen (6 total), which broadcast the big football games (both American and European), making this bar a rare ambassador of bro culture in the area, and a pretty good place to watch sports (or, sport). The selection and pricing of beer and hard stuff is very standard, although squeeze bottles of agave nectar and store-bought pomegranate juice hint at a stab at modern cocktailing, and beers are mostly under $5. Probably decorated Graceland-style in one day at Patty O'Shamrock's Irish Bar Supply Warehouse, Danny Coyle's is totally unremarkable, which is what makes it such an anamoly amidst the punk, grime and quirk of the Lower Haight.
