Women Paradise in San Francisco. Fem night at the Harlot is absolutely fantastic! There are women of all ages, fun and easygoing. Cocktails are affordable, bartenders are fast, and I loved the music so much (lady gaga, madonna, etc.) that I couldn't stop dancing all night... and I am the type who usually doesn't dance. Too bad the party is over at 10pm and that there are not enough FEM bar nights. I am totally in love with this place.
One of my favorites. I like Harlot. It's always my go to place to dance if I have no other plans. It's a realitively small venue, but I like it because I never lose my friends. The music is always good and it doesn't take too long to get a drink.
Everyone is so nice. Gorgeous women..
Everyone is so nice. The workers, the clientele. Beautiful early 20-something women. I think it trumps Slide in terms of its hot women. The music is definitely better than Slides.
Now just find me a way to get in here more easily and to get upstairs!
SO I was reviewing the below comments. Let me start by saying I have been here multiple times. The staff has always been super nice. I have never had a problem getting in. The music is great. The decor is off the hook. Drink are delicious. It's an all around good time.
So GET REAL! You show up to a club, day of, expecting to get treated like a princess cause it's your birthday. Please, no one cares it's your birthday but you. You should have taken care of that. It's no ones responsibility but your own. I believe their web site asks for a week advance notice for a table. So they were being nice offering you one on demand! Then your complaining because the bouncers wont put your group on a list so they can get in. First come first serve. Were you turning 21? Cause people who go out know the deal with night clubs. It's a business, and only that. They take care of business, they do what's good for the club.
I loved Harlot and go there often
A Club to Avoid.
Picture the sleaziest of car dealerships. Pretense with regard to high quality, innovation and most of all exclusivity, brought on by a 'Z' list staff. Now, translate this picture onto the club scene of San Francisco and you get 'Harlot'.
Mediocre (at best) furnishings, yet appealing to the bridge-and-tunnel, don't-know-betters, who come in swarms only to be seen, within a scene of desperate youth. Desperados who will line up and allow themselves to be demeaned by those powerless-by-day, dressed in black 'Z' list staffers who guard the door and 'stairway to hell' upstairs.
This is one place I COULD NOT return to.
Being associated or seen in this club, is as damaging as carrying the reputation of what-it-is to be a 'Harlot'.

The WORST - Stay AWAY!. I will NEVER go to this place again. Can I just start off by saying the two people at the door have major DOORMAN SYNDROME! I went there with my family and friends for my birthday to celebrate. I came early with my girlfriend and told them there would be around 15-20 of us coming and their response was we can't gaurantee that they would all get in, that they're not going to let a bunch of guys in at all. So we told them that they all have girls with them and he just smugged at us like what ever. So inside we inquired about table service thinking that would at least help my group get in, but they said their tables were ALL reserved. So as my friends & family are all outside unable to get in I go back outside to try to talk to the Doormen (because really that's all they are just one step up from a security guard with a flashlight) and the I.D checker in the black suite and hat doesn't want me around the door, but the bald guy in the jeans outfit and clipboard says it's cool,so I ask if I can get them in and I want a table. He starts acting cool for a moment and lets some of them in and says since you are getting a table "I will let them in". My brother was looking for parking at the time and wasn't in line yet, so I told clip board man and he says don't worry I'll take care of him when he comes. That was a big lie! As most of us were inside now the SALES lady selling the tables comes up and says all of a sudden we have a table on the dance floor that seats around 6, keep in mind there are 15 of us a this time. So I tell her that it's a little small. She leaves and comes back around 15 minutes later & ALL of a sudden again now they have two more tables upstairs and she wants us to buy four bottles for a $1000. So I tell her that we don't want four bottles so she says oh well. Now DOORMAN with doesn't want to let my brother in. I was more than willing to get a table with 2 bottles but they wouldn't let me. So we all left for John Collins down the block, no issues there.
WOW, Great non mainstream Music!!!.
I was there 2 times on a thursday night and had a great time. Got in at around 9:30PM and did not have to wait to get in.
The bar tenders are doing a great job, I find them very friendly and it is easy to get drinks even when it is a little packed. Prices are very reasonable too (relatively speaking).
It really does not get much better than this when it comes to the music.
It starts out with great downtempo like OM lounge, Thievery corp etc. Later in the night the music speeds up and the dance floor is packed. The DJ's know what they are doing, that's for sure.
I find the crowd approachable and friendly compared to other clubs. Most of the people appear to be in their late 20's to early 30's.
Last, but not least, the decor is very cool and stylish.
Exclusive mid-sized club pays homage to the working girls of the promiscuous Gold Rush era..
In the shadow of the Trans-Bay terminal, Harlot stands as a monument to the Barbary Coast's ladies of the evening that prowled the same alleyway that the club stands upon today. Stylized branches and antlers contrasted by red light bulbs and tasteful, nearly nude artwork are focal points of the seductive décor. Dressed-up women appreciate the danceable DJ music, while their under-dressed male counterparts appreciate the upscale bar snacks and the pin-ups on tabletops more. Those in the skybox (a floating VIP bar) enjoy their own bar and bathroom.
Avoid. Over-rated night spot tainted with bouncers that feed off of doorman power. Let me and my beautiful friends in, but gave trouble to the second half of my friend's birthday party. Attention-hungry and passive-agressive wanna-be-trendy bouncer said to my male friends, "You can stand here all night and you won't get in." Meanwhile 75% of our group was already inside with the rest of the rude staff. Entrance is purely superficial, and depends solely on the mood and rules of the doormen at that given moment. Overheard several other groups complaining in line as well. And let me tell you, it was pretty empty inside...
Exceeded my expectations. Yes- it can be hard to get in- but it seemed to me most of the people (guys) in line could use help getting dressed for a night out. The staff and dj were great, and the drinks as well. The place itself is definitely the coolest spot in SF hands down.
