What People Are Saying About Harlot

In Short – In the shadow of the Trans-Bay terminal, Harlot stands as a monument to the Barbary Coast's ladies of the evening that prowled the same alleyway that the club stands upon today. Stylized branches and antlers contrasted by red light bulbs and tasteful, nearly nude artwork are focal points of the seductive décor. Dressed-up women appreciate the danceable DJ music, while their under-dressed male counterparts appreciate the upscale bar snacks and the pin-ups on tabletops more. Those in the skybox (a floating VIP bar) enjoy their own bar and bathroom.
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- There's often a line outside on weekends, but ladies usually don't have to wait for too long. Guys are best advised not to travel in same-sex packs--the door staff, while polite and professional, are unlikely to allow large groups of guys in together.
- Where to Sit:
- If you know someone, or call someone, you can escape the elbowing at the downstairs bar and relax in the VIP area.
- Save Money:
- To avoid the cover charge, dig the scene after work. Stop by between 5pm and 9pm for $3 drafts and $5 wells.
- Fun Fact:
- Most of SoMa's alleyways, including the club's own Minna Street, are named after infamous prostitutes from the Gold Rush era.
Women Paradise in San Francisco

Fem night at the Harlot is absolutely fantastic! There are women of all ages, fun and easygoing. Cocktails are affordable, bartenders are fast, and I loved the music so much (lady gaga, madonna, etc.) that I couldn't stop dancing all night... and I am the type who usually doesn't dance. Too bad the party is over at 10pm and that there are not enough FEM bar nights. I am totally in love with this place.
One of my favorites

I like Harlot. It's always my go to place to dance if I have no other plans. It's a realitively small venue, but I like it because I never lose my friends. The music is always good and it doesn't take too long to get a drink.
- Pros: Smaller venue, fast bar service
- Cons: Gets packed easily
Everyone is so nice. Gorgeous women.

Everyone is so nice. The workers, the clientele. Beautiful early 20-something women. I think it trumps Slide in terms of its hot women. The music is definitely better than Slides.
Now just find me a way to get in here more easily and to get upstairs!
Get Real

SO I was reviewing the below comments. Let me start by saying I have been here multiple times. The staff has always been super nice. I have never had a problem getting in. The music is great. The decor is off the hook. Drink are delicious. It's an all around good time.
So GET REAL! You show up to a club, day of, expecting to get treated like a princess cause it's your birthday. Please, no one cares it's your birthday but you. You should have taken care of that. It's no ones responsibility but your own. I believe their web site asks for a week advance notice for a table. So they were being nice offering you one on demand! Then your complaining because the bouncers wont put your group on a list so they can get in. First come first serve. Were you turning 21? Cause people who go out know the deal with night clubs. It's a business, and only that. They take care of business, they do what's good for the club.
I loved Harlot and go there often
- Pros: Staff, music, scene
- Cons: sometimes over crowded, but hey thats a good thing
A Club to Avoid
by publishsf at Citysearch
Picture the sleaziest of car dealerships. Pretense with regard to high quality, innovation and most of all exclusivity, brought on by a 'Z' list staff. Now, translate this picture onto the club scene of San Francisco and you get 'Harlot'.
Mediocre (at best) furnishings, yet appealing to the bridge-and-tunnel, don't-know-betters, who come in swarms only to be seen, within a scene of desperate youth. Desperados who will line up and allow themselves to be demeaned by those powerless-by-day, dressed in black 'Z' list staffers who guard the door and 'stairway to hell' upstairs.
This is one place I COULD NOT return to.
Being associated or seen in this club, is as damaging as carrying the reputation of what-it-is to be a 'Harlot'.
