Fresh soups, salads and baked goods plus a rotating crostata menu draw foodies to this rough end of town on the southern outskirts of the Union Square district. (A crostata is an Italian, open-faced pie made with sweet or savory ingredients--and here, those fillings are made with local and sustainable produce.) The small, simple restaurant features counter service and stools for 14, and the menu changes daily and seasonally.

Best Crostata this side of the ocean!. I've heard about this new gem on 6th street and I went for a little tasting. It was just as good as I've heard? even better! They serve homemade soup, salad, crostatas, cookies, muffins, cupcakes, etc. I ordered the egg and aged goat cheese crostata (it was hot and the cheese was all yummy and gooey), the split pea soup (the best I?ve ever had), the fava, asparagus, arugula salad and a chocolate chip cookie ? it was all delicious and they change their menu daily!! This little gem was worth the trip and I?ll be back. There's street parking, take-out or you can eat there as they have stools/counter and service with a smile!
