Editorial Review for Jones Restaurant – by Lorraine Sanders
In Short
Like a slick city steakhouse meeting its backyard-barbecue cousin from nowhere Texas, this destination for new American comfort fare is full of contradictions. But therein lie its charms. With interiors of exposed brick and timber wood, the dining room sets the perfect scene for twenty-something Executive Chef Jamaal Taherzadeh's starters like grilled PB&J served with a milk shot. Hearty steaks served with both béarnaise and A1 and entrees like beer-can chicken continue the theme.

I have been to Marina Sports Bar that is now "Jones" and what a difference!!! If you had ever gone to Marina Sports Bar you'd know what I'm talking about! At Jones', I really think that the menu had a great variety of food choices, futhermore delicious food, and not over-priced. When you go to Jones' your not only paying for service & food but atmosphere as well, which I really feel you get when you visit "Jones". Jones' offers the best of both worlds.... it is great for dining out with friends and family, but additionally it is also a great place to watch sports! I would absolutely go again! I loved it!
Pros: Food

Jones is a nice restaurant but they are missing the mark. Seems like they are confused, trying to stil offer the sports bar experience with food that is priced like you're at a fine dining establishment. Small size portions and everything is a la carte. Congrats to the chef b/c the menu is varied and food is excellent, full of flavor, delicious, but not worth the price when the check arrives. As an example, their steaks are priced $12-$16 MORE than one of my local favorites Izzy's. We started with chicken wings and Ahi Tuna Tartare and both dishes were extremely small portions. The spicy string beans and asparagus dishes were small as well, doesn't help that everything is served on large plates/platters. Jones has only been open a short time, hope they increases food portions and adjust some of their pricing.
Pros: Atmosphere, HD TV's for Sports, Delicious Food
Cons: Small portions, overpriced even for the Marina
