I'll go again!. I find Butterfly to be hospitable. Good food, Good service and an even better atmosphere. I find the snapper wrap to be amazing. I admire the fact that they don't over season/salt the food for those of us that can't take an overwhelming flavoring. I love the sake sangria, Green tea lemonade( you may not tast the alcohol but you feel it moments later), And the Cherry bomb. The bartenders seem to know the meaning of a good pour and stay true to that. Even though some of us don't tell the difference, even when we're drinking it. Love it can't wait to go back!

Over priced Vietnamese food and struggling to be classy. Just hangout at the lounge if you must go. Food is so so and extremely over priced.

I will most defintely not going back there. In addition, the layout of the restaurant is pretty much like a caferteria with dim lightings.

Oh please.... Don't listen to the whiners in the past review...people love to exaggerate. I've been to Butterfly twice now..it's a proper upscale casual restaurant. Its from the same people who run Butterflty on the Embarcadero in San Francisco, which is a staple in SF. It is a new restaurant so they may be going through growing pains, but please...you will not die after having dinner here...it is just dinner, and I've had a good time on both my visits

Avoid this place completely!!. If you want clean cooked food and an apologetic manager, then DO NOT COME HERE! My family and I decided to celebrate a birthday at Butterfly. The food and service was adequate at the start of the meal, but it quickly went downhill after the appetizers. My brother found a live insect in his entree! This insect was not a little ant. It was a little smaller than the size of a dime. The insect was still crawling around in his uncooked watercress. We all immediately lost our appetite. As a result, we called one of the waiters over to inform her of what we had found. To our astonishment, she didnt apologize at all. The waiter who turns out to be the manager told us that the greens were organic. She also replied, "organic vegetables attract more insect." I do not think that it is a liable excuse for dirty food. To top it off, the manager still charge us for my brother's meal. I REPEAT, DO NOT COME TO BUTTERFLY!!!! I wouldn't even give this place a star, but I have to rate it.

Didn't make an impact on me.... Being Vietnamese from Orange County, there are some dishes I crave that I just can't find in SF. That is until a new restaurant popped up on Open Table - Butterfly Bistro. We checked out the menu and I saw that one of the noodles dishes I haven't been able to find it the city was the crab and tomato noodle soup. I was very excited to check out the new restaurant but the overall experience was very disappointing.

Let's start with drinks.. we couldn't even tell if my lemonade (which the server had recommended) even had any alcohol in it. My boyfriend's Long Island should have been called Coke with a splash of something else. For food, we started off with the clams and mussels appetizer which had nice, bold flavors. However, the clams weren't cleaned very well. Each one was full of dirt that made it VERY unappetizing. I had my crab and tomato noodle soup with did satisfy my craving but was a little bland. We also had the oxtail soup, which was decent as well, as long as you put a lot of hot sauce in it, as this dish is traditionally very spicy.

We might come here again.. when my craving comes back and if I haven't found another Vietnamese joint in the city that doesn't serve it better.

Editorial Review. San Francisco highlight makes its way down the peninsula bringing with it its signature Vietnamese fusion cuisine.
