In Short – This unexpected--and unexpectedly urbane--basement lounge is tucked down one of Union Square's quieter alleyways. State-of-the-art light and sound fill the roomy, high-ceilinged space replete with stunning, modern furnishings in faux fur, ultrasuede and wood--including a live juniper tree. Contemporary teak and stainless steel tables have built-in champagne buckets; dancing atop them when the mood strikes is encouraged. An enormous bar, VIP nooks and unisex bathrooms with impressive amenities complete the scene.
Rude Bouncer at the Door - Ethiopian Black guy was very rude
by Gianni29j
Everyone has seen the cool door guys at nightlclubs. This foor guy at Vessel was not cool at all!!! The Ethiopian Guy at the door stated that he would not let us in because a member of our party, a young woman, was not allowed in?? We were shocked and didnt understand his reasoning??That was strange because we had never been there before and it was impossible for us not to be let in the club for something we had done in the passed. I dont suggest going to this place as the door guy was so rude and obnoxious to a young lady of our party that I almost think he had a mental issue of some sort. I am just letting everyone know because I dont feel people should give them business in an economy where people are struggling and a door guy is rude to people outside. The individual at the door needs to understand that you can not do that to people. It is very disturbing to find such a low-grade door person at the door who doesnt understand that nightlcub business is about being a marketable place to enjoy yourself. Word of mouth is king. And facebook can hurt a business or make it. Be prepared to be stopped and Not to be allowed in and be stopped at the door because of an individuals, in this case the bouncer/door guy, short comings and possible hangups about discriminating and profiling people at the door. Bottom line - Dont go here - the door guy may not let you in for no reason at all or reasons unknown???
- Pros: None - the rude door guy stated that we couldnt come in??
- Cons: Very Rude Bouncer - July 23 -Bouncer at Door Rude
Run by the Russian Mob
by barton010239
I was at a private party at this bar and removed with no justification because I was "intoxicated". I hadn't had a drink in over 90 minutes and was literally sitting on the stage near the bar along with dozens of other folks minding my own business. I'm writing this right when I got home - judge my "intoxication" for yourself. When I returned to dispute my removal in front of my friends and colleagues I was bodily threatened by the doormen and owners. It is readily apparent that there is Russian Mob influence behind the scenes at this location, because they came out of a previously unseen door when I was "making a scene". This location is not safe and not worthy of your patronage.
- Pros: n/a
- Cons: russian mob
DO NOT GO THERE
by rusharil
Rented the VIP table with friends. Couldn't lift a leg for two hours because the music SUCKED. I felt sorry for people without a booth, standing still for a long time with their drinks in the middle of the dancefloor with hopes for the music to change. Our host explained that the DJ was a no show at the last minute and they had to literally bring someone off the street. Slowly everyone started to dissappear and we asked for our money back, but they refused to do so. I'm VERY dissappointed.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: EVERYTHING
