Rude Bouncer at the Door - Ethiopian Black guy was very rude. Everyone has seen the cool door guys at nightlclubs. This foor guy at Vessel was not cool at all!!! The Ethiopian Guy at the door stated that he would not let us in because a member of our party, a young woman, was not allowed in?? We were shocked and didnt understand his reasoning??That was strange because we had never been there before and it was impossible for us not to be let in the club for something we had done in the passed. I dont suggest going to this place as the door guy was so rude and obnoxious to a young lady of our party that I almost think he had a mental issue of some sort. I am just letting everyone know because I dont feel people should give them business in an economy where people are struggling and a door guy is rude to people outside. The individual at the door needs to understand that you can not do that to people. It is very disturbing to find such a low-grade door person at the door who doesnt understand that nightlcub business is about being a marketable place to enjoy yourself. Word of mouth is king. And facebook can hurt a business or make it. Be prepared to be stopped and Not to be allowed in and be stopped at the door because of an individuals, in this case the bouncer/door guy, short comings and possible hangups about discriminating and profiling people at the door. Bottom line - Dont go here - the door guy may not let you in for no reason at all or reasons unknown???

Run by the Russian Mob. I was at a private party at this bar and removed with no justification because I was "intoxicated". I hadn't had a drink in over 90 minutes and was literally sitting on the stage near the bar along with dozens of other folks minding my own business. I'm writing this right when I got home - judge my "intoxication" for yourself. When I returned to dispute my removal in front of my friends and colleagues I was bodily threatened by the doormen and owners. It is readily apparent that there is Russian Mob influence behind the scenes at this location, because they came out of a previously unseen door when I was "making a scene". This location is not safe and not worthy of your patronage.

DO NOT GO THERE. Rented the VIP table with friends. Couldn't lift a leg for two hours because the music SUCKED. I felt sorry for people without a booth, standing still for a long time with their drinks in the middle of the dancefloor with hopes for the music to change. Our host explained that the DJ was a no show at the last minute and they had to literally bring someone off the street. Slowly everyone started to dissappear and we asked for our money back, but they refused to do so. I'm VERY dissappointed.

Rude, stuffy and bad music. If you want to have fun and dance, consider going to a better club. Last time my 6 friends and I went to Vessel, we all had a very unpleasant experience: dj did not show up, there was no room to stand, let alone dance, music was aweful, place was stuffy. We politely asked for a $140 cover charge refund as we were not told there was no dj and no room to move and we were literaly kicked out by staff serving the club and that's after we were repeteldy yelled at by other men working in the club for standing on steps, putting our purses on the floor, standing close to columns, etc. It was a truly shocking experience.

Like to get beaten up? Vessel's your place!. Unless getting beaten up by Hwang's henchmen appeals to you, I would definitely recommend avoiding this place!

It's ALRIGHT. Nice venue. I loved the atmosphere. However, on the night I went the music sucked. They kept playing the most random songs and nothing that you could dance to. The crowd is also much older, think 30s-40s.

Exclusive POSH Lounge. Ultra chic. The Journey to get o Vessel and this "exclusive" pass word only party was pretty HOT. I'm not much of the over rated stuffy SF club scene, but I will say I was truly impressed with Vessel. The doormen, very professional, the descend to the club was like entering a Futuristic Club of 2027" great Set Up and Table Service.. ON POINT ..., beverages, wait staff and the Unisex bathroom with attendants. . Mixed Crowd, great balance on with the gender thing....ALL AROUND Excellent place to take an out of towner and/or to share time with friends.. Vessel was great.

HOT - as in temperature...not scene!. So I just went to this place last night, and I have to say...for the price, for the "exclusivity"...they need to invest in some AC! It was 92 degrees in there! If I wanted to do Bikram yoga...there's a place close by that does't charge a cover. Also, there were about 900 single women in that club and about 20 single men. Good for the guys, terrible for the ladies. Incredibly sweet bartenders, however, and the club itself is beautiful. Also, I don't agree with the folks in the other reviews about the doormen...they were fantastic and very helpful. In fact, I only had a problem with one musclehead inside and he was just trying to keep people moving out of the walkways. I heard this place was hard to get into, but there was some serious riff raff...grubby jeans and tee shirts, along with some college guys in polos and jeans who looked like they rolled in there by mistake. On second thought...maybe the doormen were too nice.

bad. Don't go unless your white. My friend had a table but, i was unable to get in. Then they let 10 people go in who were all caucasian because they had a friend who had a table. I had girls come out and try to get me and they were just rude. So have fun unless your asian then just wait out side while white and black folks get in.

Cosy Amenities, Excellent Service, Great Staff !!. My boyfriend and I, along with a gathering of friends, met this past Saturday at Vessel to celebrate his birthday. It was my first time there, and I loved it!! I'm originally from LA, so I understand what some of the other reviewers were referring to when they said that this lounge was on the exclusive/high-end side. Sure the bouncers were selective, but this is not always a bad thing- the ambiance was kept at a nicer (read: less rowdy) crowd, and the lounge didn't become a messy mob of people bumping drinks into each other. I would suggest that if you are meeting a larger group of friends, book a half or full table. This allows you to add whomever you wish to the guest list to ensure that they get in (8 ppl for half table, 15 for full). Saturday nights get pretty crowded around midnight, so plan to arrive early to avoid the long lines. Now for the decor: the lighting was perfect- not so dim that you can't see the person next to you, yet just bright enough that it felt like you could see the full array of the entire lounge- all the way to the bar! The reserved tables were very comfy. The suede sofas were HUGE and the tables were sturdy (sounds silly, but some clubs have the most awful flimsy tables that can't even hold more than three drinks, which takes away from the overall convenience of the place). Overall, as trendy and modern as the furnishings were, Vessel also had a cosiness about the place. The staff was EXCELLENT! I cannot say enough about the awesome hostess who was very professional, the cleanup crew who came to our table to tidy up nearly every half hour, and even the very pleasant coat-checker (who offered us champagne at the door!). Arrive early and enjoy the Saturday house music! Highly recommend Vessel- great place for gatherings!! :o)
