Utter Contentment.
I had a moment of utter contentment last night at Mission Beach Cafe. A beautiful San Francisco day, a lovely glass of tempranillo and the juiciest and tastiest burger I have bitten into in a really long time. Great patty, caramelized onions, melted gouda, grilled mushrooms on a toasted bun. Oh and added bonus the burger is sitting next to truffle parmesan fries. I was way too stuff after but definitely heading back to try the pies....mmm huckleberry.

Seasonal comfort fare comes with a decidedly grown-up, modern aesthetic at this sweet, little Mission restaurant and bakery..
Though Top Chef alum Ryan Scott is gone, MBC is still an all-city brunch fave and stays packed for lunch and dinner despite being slightly off the SF restaurant track. Light pours in from large windows, which coupled with the white walls and rafters makes this corner spot feel a bit like a beach chalet despite being miles from the water. The menu is seasonal and changes constantly but standbys include the fried egg sandwich, the sweet corn soup, and the grass-fed Beach Burger with tomato jam and onion marmalade. Despite the culinary achievements, this is still a sleepy cafe in the mornings, serving fresh-baked pastries and Blue Bottle coffee to neighborhood locals.

Delicious food, Great Atmosphere.
This isn't your typical cafe. In fact, it's not really a cafe at all. Don't go with your laptop expecting to sit around all day using WiFi and drinking coffee. And don't expect to wear your flip flops inside! This isn't next to the beach. Although, it is on the edge of the mission.
Aside from the name, I love this place. Tasty food, great wine, decadent desserts. If anything, go for the selection of wines hand picked by Jeremy (our handsome server and wine connousieur), and for the chocolate pecan pie.

One of our favorite in San Fran.
Perfect dinner - start to finish. Attentive and pleasant service, but not overbearing. We were given a choice of seats - we could have waited 5 minutes for one in the corner or take a table near the kitchen immediately - opted for the bigger table near the kitchen (was far enough removed from the traffic flow). Good recommendation of wine from our waiter. Had the house salad, two orders of Crostata (pizza meets pie crust - yummzy) and the filet (right amount of balsamic reduction). We were saving room for Bi-rite ice cream so passed on desserts - they decided to give us a small doggie bag-to-go with a small taste of what we were missing. We're going back... maybe for wine, maybe for breakfast cafe action.

Great Cafe with a twist!.
I went to Mission Beach Cafe today and was really impressed with decor, presentation of the food and LOVED my Green Tea Chai Latte!! Mission Cafe has the style of art I like on the walls, my favorite one is on the red wall., the tables and chairs are unique, very comfortable. The place has a warm vibe and has easy parking. I will definitely be going back for dinner soon!

Misses the mark.
I was so excited for this place to open. The decor is great, the menu looksfabulous the location is great. Unfortunately, the food is not what one expects from a kitchen in a town catering to foodies. The only "stellar" thing I ate there were the incredible imported almonds on my salad. The lamb was overcooked....the organic filet was rubbery, the sauces lacked flavor and were not pan reduced enough....even the vegetables were cut too small to savor. Sadly, I doubt this place will last.
