excellent cocktails.
Come to mercury for the speciality cocktails if for no other reason, although the garlic noodles a re delicious as well. My favorite is the Fuzzy Ginger Drop...mostly because I love to add champagne to anything.
The vibe is mellow, yet sophisticated and not crowded and there are always great movies playing on the two big screens (silent but with sub titles). Great place to check out.
nice ambiance. i didn't much like their food.. but i enjoyed the experience simply because of its cozy and intimate atmosphere... the service wasn't that great either. my cup was empty for good 20 minutes before they even noticed it...
Messenger of Good Things in The Marina. Mercury provides local Marina dwellers with a calm oasis amid the hectic traffic at the corner of Lombard and Van Ness. While the small space dictates a limited number of spirits offered, the proprietors have devised plenty of specialty cocktails to wash down the pan-Asian dishes. With small plates ranging from ahi poke and lightly fried calamari to sweet potato fries and ginger beef, this new hip eatery is sure to please. The cozy space promotes pleasant interaction with other patrons, and the bartender/waitron/DJ offers humorous repartee to smooth over any bumps in the service.
Friendly place to chill.
Comfortable, eclectic character. Unexpected, especially for the Marina. This is a great place to relax with friends, have a drink and snack on some amazing Pan-Asian dishes. I suggest the ginger beef and the sweet potato fries.
As far as parking, cab it or park in the garage on Webster.
Great Food, relaxed atmosphere, fun bathroom....
Friend of mine recommended Mercury. Said it was very relaxed atmosphere and had great food. I live in the Mission and do not venture up to the marina area to much...but I trust my friends taste and thought I would give it a try.
My first impression when i walked in was..."this is my type of place". Trendy but not pretentious. Bar tender was cool and chil. Drinks were great...i like my VodkaTonic...and they were defintely not just tonic with a splash of vodka...
The food though is what really made this place memorable. I am not a "food snob" but I defintely appreciate great food. The Menu is mostly small plates style...which is usualy not my thing, but there is plenty of food to each menu item. The Ginger Beef was my fav...came with a side of sweet potatoe fries...very very good. I have been back 3 times with friends and they all have enjoyed themselves. A solo order of the sweet potato e fries comes with 3 different dipping sauces....dangerously good...the group of people I was with went through them in no time.
If you want good drinks, great finger food or even dinner, and relaxed but attentive service, this place is defintely worth checking out.
Parking is a bit tough, so I recommend cabbing it over.
Bring your iPod, they might just plug it into their sound system and play one of your playlists!
And...don't foget to visit the bathroom....the walls are all chalk boards...so you can "tag" away all you want....just don't take up to much time in there...
Awesome service with a great vibe and fun crowd!. This is a fun intimate bar. Great place to hang out and have some small plates while enjoying drinks and conversation with friends. Definitely a "go to" place if you want to be in an atmosphere that is hip and fun, but very relaxed.
Editorial Review. Swanky and intimate restaurant-bar combo in the Marina serves an eclectic array of Asian-influenced small plates and desserts alongside signature cocktails.
