Editorial Review – Italian restaurant in Bay Area serving authentic Italian food in a relaxed atmosphere.
Good prices, so-so food – We went to West Coast Cafe for dinner, I had read the one review of the restaurant and it was a good review. I should remember that no everyone has good taste.
The prices were reasonable but the food was just average. I had the capellini w/basil garlic tomato sauce, couldn't taste the basil as there was very little, no garlic taste at all, I had the waiter put cheese on it when it was served and when he came back to fill our water I asked for more cheese, the pasta needed flavor, it was extremely boring without the cheese and that didn't even help very much. My son had the veal filled canelloni, he gave me a bite, no taste, very finely ground up meat, almost like baby food. This is not a restaurant I would go to again and surely wouldn't recommend it to friends.
A Diamond in the Rough!! – What a place! Food is very good, servers are friendly, and a very inexpensive Italian restaurant.
This is a hidden treasure right in the middle of alot of Asian rerstaurants on San Mateo Ave. @ Jenevein.
