Great for Coffee Shop Work!. Great spot for coffee shop work! Indoors is very spacious and cozy. The staff is friendly and they give you a great selection of strong to light coffee. The Free Wi Fi is great and everyone there seems to be work on there laptops! Good spot!

An alternative to the usual coffee franchise scene with a homey, comfortable feel..

Polk Gulch denizens and Russian Hill locals have snuggled up to this large-yet-cozy corner coffee shop, favoring its comfortable mismatched furnishings and indie vibe over nearby franchises. On offer are the usual coffee drinks as well as a bevy of unusual twists: The "nutty cow" is a latte flavored with roasted hazelnuts, and the white-chocolate mocha is made with Ghirardelli chocolate from up the street.

Great homework spot!. After searching high and low, I've finally found a neighborhood coffeeshop that combines all the elements I'm looking for: The coffee is good. The decor is somewhat upscale (granite countertops) and clean. There are plenty of high-back easy chairs and bistro tables, indoors and out. And the staff never sends even the remotest twinge of attitude if you spend hours in there and only buy one drink. This is a neighborhood coffeeshop in Russian Hill, on Polk St. Lots of students and quirky eccentrics. Only drawback with writing a review like this is that it might become even more crowded than it already is (sometimes you have to wait or share table with stranger to find a seat).
