Bouncers Are Punks.
I watched as the male bouncers went toe to toe with a group of females.... YES FEMALES!!!
I could not believe my eyes. I watched the entire thing, if you're the girls involved in the physical assault with the bouncers on 4/5/12 I will gladly be your witness, YOU HAVE A CASE.
As far as my own personal experience, the club was too small, and the bar was slow and pricey. The place was packed but nobody really dancing. No fun. We weren't greeted upon arrival by the many staff standing at the door nor thanked as we left. Then to top it off the traumatic sight of watching bouncers hitting girls. That was rough for me and as we say were Im from "some b%$ch sh&%."
First and last time for me and me and my group.
Assault - 12/11 Bouncers kicked guy in the face. A lot!.
I was trying to get out of this super crowded bar last night and right by the door the guy in front of me just knocked the guy in front of him in the back of the head. And from what I could see, totally out of the blue. He then got pushed into the dark hallway that leads to the front door where the poor guy just dropped to the ground. He never even saw it coming. The guy that hit him and somebody else started stomping on his head kicking him in the face! He must have been knocked out because he never even moved. Then they just chucked him out on to the sidewalk. It was horrible. It totally freaked me out.
The guys that beat him up - the bouncers.
If that guy remembers anything he'll own that place.
Do not go there.
It is not cool.
The place was packed way, way past capacity.
The bartenders are super slow.
The drinks are overpriced.
If you fall down the bouncers will kick you in the face.
Nice neighborhood bar.
I like Ambassador! It's a great neighborhood bar if you're looking for something a little "higher-end." It does get super crowded and the drinks aren't exactly cheap, but it's a good hang-out place.
They play good music and they're always showing old movies. Fun place!
Another Mojito please!.
I like Ambassador. It's a nice atmosphere with a lounge feel. I love the brick walls with leather booths. The crowd is usually decent and I like how the venue isn't too large.
The only downside is that the bartenders take FOREVER. I clearly watched the bartender take shots with his staff and then proceed to hit on a girl before he made the drinks I ordered. Thanks for nothing buddy.
assault & battery.
Don't go here, unless you want to be assaulted. A friend of mine went here and went to buy a round of drinks, after handing over his CC to pay for them, he went to lift them off the bar when all of a sudden this huge gnarly bouncer with buzz cut hair grabbed him. He started pushing him hard on the chest to throw him out the bar. He was pushing him super hard and my friend obviously was shocked as he didn't know why he was being thrown out. So he finally got him out. My friend was getting beat on by more than one bouncer. He was in a head lock that almost made him pass out. Then he was thrown to the ground, as he laid there, he had his head pounded off the ground at least 3 times. Then he was cuffed...with METAL CUFFS! Not zip ties, but actual police issue cuffs. Then he was told to sit by the parking meter outside.
By this time the cops were called, and when they got there, they saw the mess my friend was in and called the paramedics. He had to have his head bandaged, as it was all busted open from them pounding him on the pavement. He didn't go to hospital because he couldn't afford to have a medical exam. However, the paramedics did tell him that he was lucky he didn't have more head damage than he did. He is being charged with trespassing and battery. Quite funny since the bully bouncer ALLOWED him IN the club, which is not TRESPASSING and battery? Well, I wonder if the bully bouncer has a black eye, a busted head, a twisted ankle and bruises all over him. The cops took his blood at the scene and saw that he was not 'drunk'.
What gives BOUNCERS the right to ACT like police??? I mean handcuffing someone? Come on....beating them? A bouncers job is to keep a club/bar safe and legal. Check I.D's and make sure that people in there are safe. NOT to randomly take someone out and beat the you know what outta them.
Thankfully my friend has taken pics of all his injuries and is calling a lawyer on Monday, I think he's due some kind of compensation for taking a beating just because some bouncer has to beat on innocent people to stroke his own....ego.
The Kicker:- My friends credit card is still there, since he handed it over to start a tab, before he got the crap kicked outta him. What a bummer he never even got to enjoy his first drink, before getting pummeled. Don't ya just love bullies.
Oh and I just gave 1 star because it made me. I couldn't publish without rating it.
OVERCHARGED VIP experience.
This place is over-rated and most importantly over-priced!!! Went there for a Birthday Bash and I thought I'd get my Birthday friend a bottle service. We tried calling and emailing to secure a reservation earlier that day but no one got a hold of us back. We thought we'd just swing by there and see if we can get a booth, luckily we did. Well maybe we were not too lucky now that I think about it.
We got a bottle of HangarOne vodka, and a bottle of Midori, I was so shocked when I saw the check. They charged Hangarone Vodka 40% alcohol (80 proof) that costs $35/btl wholesale -- $290. While Midori that only has 20% alcohol (40 proof), and only cost $20/btl wholesale-- watch this...$310. Whatt??? what in the world? where'd they get the numbers? When tried to explain this to the self-assured French table hostess she refused to verify to the manager.
The manager Danielle who never responded back to our initial reservation emails sent me an email afterwards and said that she was thankful for our group coming in, and hoping that we had a great time. Right..I responded and explained to her what happened. She said she was sooo sorry and would contact me to review this. No body ever did. Worst Customer Service!!! I got ripped off!
Great after work, pre- or post-theatre place.
Had heard about The Ambassador for over a year and finally met friends here for Happy Hour drinks and appetizers. Our experience exceeded the buzz. This is one of my new favorite bars. Beautiful concept and use of space. The cluster of chandeliers is magic. Drinks were excellent, appetizers were fun, and service was superb. Bartenders were skilled and super friendly.
There is a long bar along one wall and a bevy of big cushy booths along the opposite wall. Upstairs has a cozy balcony with a second bar that overlooks the room. Love, too, the old movies playing on the big screen.
We've been back several times since and have always have a good time. Good music. Friendly crowd. A touch of class.
Chandelier's and Champagne. If your looking to have a good night dancing, drinking, or just socializing the Ambassador is the place to go. With no cover charge the line can get long on weekends but I always find it worth the wait. The music selection is always fun and old movies play on the wall which makes for great entertainment. The place is little, but if you don't mind that you will love the atmosphere. I would recommend the Ambassador to anyone laid-back who can handle dancing and appreciates sophisticated decor. Just look up and enjoy the chandeliers while your dancing!
Rude Management/Poor Bottle Service. On Saturday November 17th, a bunch of friends headed over to the Ambassador to celebrate our friend's birthday. The night started out really fun and we even decided to go the bottle service route so we could have a table to rally around. We were happy with our location and the music was really good-except for the fact that the DJ wasn't very nice and as he made it very clear, did NOT take any requests. Unfortunately, our bottle service hostess wasn't much of a host. She was great at bringing over the buckets of ice, but as far as "hosting" (i.e. pouring drinks, refilling mixers, etc.), she was definitely lacking. I could have potentially lived with this since I started pouring the drinks for the group, but when the $700 bill showed up with the 20% gratuity added, I was furious! What was even more infuriating was the reaction of the Manager. Clearly, he knew our party was unhappy with the service, but he merely shrugged it off and said we had to pay the full amount or else. The manager's customer service was disappointing and highly inadequate. After a relatively fun evening out, that experience made this patron leave with a sour feeling about the Ambassador. I would not recommend this bar to anyone who appreciates good service.
No AC and Rude Staff. Our visit started out great- good music, we had gotten a table with bottle service because we heard the place was very crowded. The decor is great, the energy was good. They even let me dance on the booth bench (I had to take my shoes off though). Later on in the evening, our server was MIA. She would occasionally come by and refill our ice but other than that was not around. The club became EXTREMELY hot, seemed as though there was no air conditioning. It was like a sauna. At one point I couldn't take it anymore and had to go outside. I have never been in a club without AC- not sure if this was just a weekend it was broken or not- either way, unacceptable. At the end of the night our server showed up to give us our $700 bill, with her tip already included. We would have NEVER tipped her the full amount for the job she did. We brought it up to the manager and he was very rude. He actually told me to go call the police if I had a problem with it. He just stood there with a smirk on his face. I would never go back to this club.
